Summer Camp Volunteers act as assistant instructors for our summer camps and receive training in our unique approach to mentoring youth in nature, which focuses on curiosity, play and asking questions as much or more than a delivery of facts. You can learn more about this approach by exploring Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature, available from our web store
Campers will learn skills to be the expert on their next camping trip and gain tactics for an outdoor survival situation.
At Knife and Knot, campers learn an array of practical survival skills through hands-on and engaging activities! Kids will spend their week learning knife safety and carving, navigation, knots, shelter-making, water filtration, and the essentials of a survival kit. They’ll have fun learning the craft of knot-tying and using knife skills for a carving project. Campers will also learn to track their surroundings as they learn basic mapping skills.
